Real-world puppy socialisation in BasingstokePuppy socialisation is about much more than meeting other dogs. Puppies have an entire human world to learn about: people, traffic, shops, noises, unusual surfaces, cafés, lifts, other dogs they cannot greet and hundreds of small experiences that humans barely notice.Puppy Training in the Real World is a three-week course based at Festival Place in Basingstoke, designed to help you teach your puppy how to cope with everyday life outside the training classroom. This is not a puppy playgroup.

Walking through busy public spacesExperiencing different sights, sounds and surfacesBeing around people and other dogs without needing to greet themBuilding confidence around lifts, escalators, bright lights and shiny floors

The aim is not to expose your puppy to as much as possible. It is to provide useful, manageable experiences while helping you learn when to encourage, when to give time and when the sensible answer is to create more space.

Why train in the real world?A puppy may be brilliant at a skill in the kitchen and find the same task much harder in the middle of a shopping centre. Dogs do not automatically understand that something learned in one place applies everywhere else. Carefully practising in different environments helps build more flexible skills.
